Each friend leads a nation in one shared world, as allies, rivals or anything in between, and the host can pause and save so a campaign spans many evenings.
Players can join a game already under way.
Everyone needs the base game, but expansions the host owns apply to everyone in the session.
The systems are deep and a campaign takes dozens of hours, so it suits patient groups who enjoy long-term plans.
