How it plays

Multiplayer runs the full strategy game, with friends as rivals or on one team against others, and a game can be saved and continued over several evenings.
Up to eight people can share a game on a Standard or larger map; turn timers keep things moving.
Crossplay links PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Switch through a 2K account, but the original Switch version only plays small maps.
Since June 2026 a hotseat mode also lets players take turns on one device.
